HISTORY

In 2012, Culp Home Fashions established its cut and sew operation, CLASS (Culp-Lava Applied Sewn Solutions) in partnership with A. Lava and Son, a multi-faceted 4th generation family business started in 1917.

1972

Culp Inc. is founded by Robert G. Culp, Jr. as a convertor of fabrics to the upholstery industry. Culp Inc's initial name was R.G. Culp & Associates.

1976

Culp Home Fashions (CHF and originally known as Culp Ticking) is established as a convertor of woven and printed fabrics to the mattress industry.

1983

Culp Inc. becomes a public company.

1985

First weaving looms for mattress fabrics are purchased to begin internal manufacturing.

1986

Stokesdale, NC manufacturing plant is purchased to begin internal printing and finishing of mattress fabrics.

1995

Canadian textile manufacturer, Rayonese Textiles, is purchased by Culp Home Fashions (CHF) to begin manufacturing mattress fabrics in Canada.

1996

Culp Inc. is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

2000

CHF develops a partnership in Turkey to further its global manufacturing platform.

2002

CHF adds circular knitted mattress fabrics to its product line.

2004

CHF global manufacturing is expanded to include China partners.

2008

CHF acquires the production capacity from Bodet and Horst and begins its North American production of circular knitted mattress fabric.

2012

CHF establishes its cut and sew operation, CLASS (Culp Lava Applied Sewn Solutions) in partnership with A. Lava and Sons.

2016

CHF Distribution Center expansion begins adding 225,000 square feet to the plant.

2017

CHF announced expansion of its CLASS Cut and Sew Platform in Haiti. CIH- Class International Holdings, is located in Haiti-based Codevi. CLASS now has production facilities in the USA, China and Haiti.

2018

Culp introduces Comfort Supply Co. the newest line of Bedding Accessories by Culp Home Fashions.
